The Detroit synth / progressive / rock trio have signed on to score the upcoming horror/slasher film My Blade Is Your Salvation, written and directed by James Dean (Fountaine and the Vengeful Nun Who Wouldn’t Die, XXX-Mas and Absolution).

The soundtrack, performed by the group Voyag3r, is absolute perfection. Chock full of synth heavy themes, it’s the kind of music you would expect to hear in a low budget movie from the 1980’s. The music doesn’t feel like a parody of 1980’s music, which is always a plus (I’ve heard far too many “1980’s inspired synth scores” that sound like a bunch of people fucking around. That kind of thing needs to stop). I wonder if Voyag3r, based on the greatness of its New York Ninja score, will get more movie soundtrack work? Hopefully, they will.

That is a WRAP on principal photography!!!

It’s been quite a journey. Fun, but sometimes stressful as well. A lot of talented people were involved with this passion project, to whom I owe a debt of gratitude. I came up with the concept of “Killer Kabbage” back in 2011, it started off as a short film but I’ve always wanted to revisit the idea with a new story and expand it into a feature. This morning, I sent the workprint to Voyag3r to begin the process of scoring the film, and we are beyond excited to see what these talented people whip up for us!

So, what’s next?

I’m still mixing the sound fx, we still need to do ADR on a few scenes, and a small handful of visual fx scenes are still work in progress. After everything is done and put together, we begin a new journey into the film festival circuit for the next year.

What started off as a fun idea grew into a feature length film with the help of a lot of people that kept one thing in mind: to have fun and make story that will entertain and make people laugh. And we hope we deliver.

Film Plot Summary

John is just an average man working as a sound technician for a New York City news station, until one day his pregnant wife is brutally murdered while witnessing the kidnapping of a young woman in broad daylight. Turning to the police for help, John soon learns that the city is overrun with crime and the police are too busy to help. Dressing as a white ninja, John takes to the streets as a sword wielding vigilante hell bent on cleaning up the streets of the city he once loved by ridding it of muggers, pickpockets, rapists, and gang members. However, in John’s quest for justice, he soon finds himself the target of every criminal in the city, including a mysterious villain known only as the Plutonium Killer. Will John survive to become the hero that New York City so desperately needs?
