We’ve searched archives and collections the world over to present to you, rare film prints, some of which you just won’t see anywhere else projected on these shores from the beloved 35mm format.

“Why? Why is this happening? Why won’t anyone do anything? I don’t understand. Why? Why? Why?”John is just an average man working as a sound technician for a New York City news station, until one day his pregnant wife is brutally murdered after witnessing the kidnapping of a young woman in broad daylight. Turning to the police for help, John soon learns that the city is overrun with crime and the police are too busy to help. Dressing as a white ninja, John takes to the streets as a sword wielding vigilante hell bent on cleaning up the streets of the city he once loved by ridding it of muggers, pickpockets, rapists, and gang members. However, in John’s quest for justice, he soon finds himself the target of every criminal in the city, including a mysterious villain known only as the Plutonium Killer. Will John survive to become the hero that New York City so desperately needs?

Originally directed by and starring martial arts actor John Liu (The Secret Rivals, Invincible Armor) in his only American production, New York Ninja was filmed entirely on 35mm in 1984, but the project was abandoned during production resulting in all original sound materials, scripts, and treatments going missing. 35 years later, Vinegar Syndrome acquired the original unedited camera negative and painstakingly constructed and completed the film. Enlisting the voice talents of genre favorites: Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Bloodfist, Whatever it Takes), Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead, Nightmare Sisters), Michael Berryman (The Hills have Eyes, Auntie Lee’s Meat Pies), Vince Murdocco (Night Hunter, LA Wars), Matt Mitler (The Mutilator, Battle for the Lost Planet), Leon Isaac Kennedy (Lone Wolf McQuade, Penitentiary), Ginger Lynn Allen (The Devil’s Rejects, Vice Academy), and Cynthia Rothrock (China O’Brien, Martial Law) . Restored from the original camera elements, New York Ninja is finally available in all its ridiculous over-the-top glory for the first time ever after spending four decades in film obscurity.

Killer Kabbage to premier at Motor City Nightmares in Novi, MI

We are excited to announce that we just got word that Killer Kabbage will get its world premier at the 2024 Motor City Nightmares Horror Convention and International Film Festival. The convention takes place July 26, 27 and 28th at the Sheraton Novi Detroit.

Some of the celebrity guests that have been announced include: Tyler Mayne, Ray Wise, Mekhi Phifer, Naomi Grossman, Brooke Smith and many more!

The exact day and time of the Killer Kabbage screening is TBA.

Voyag3r will also be at the convention on Saturday and Sunday, meeting and signing merch as well as performing live in concert at the Saturday night afterparty.

Filmmakers from around the world gather to compete in the Gen Con Film Festival. Some travel from as far away as Australia and the United Kingdom to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis for screenings, film panels, and the awards ceremony. Films from across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Israel, Japan, and Great Britain make it a truly international event.

The Gen Con Film Festival focuses on genres that appeal to our gaming attendees. These include, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Animation, Gaming, related parodies and documentaries. Killer Kabbage Selected for Gen Con Film Festival 2024!

Killer Kabbage tagline: Two warriors, from the future, are tasked to go back in time to prevent the great Kabbage apocalypse from happening in order to save mankind.

Director Biography – Michael Anthony Dotson, Jude Reed

Born and raised in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, Michael grew up in the 80s with very little parental supervision which led to his love for cult movies that were often shown on USA: UP ALL NIGHT. With very little to do in the small town of the Sault, Michael found hobbies such as creative story writing, paranormal investigating, and very early stages of filmmaking with his mini DV camcorder. Michael began video editing after obtaining his first summer job in 1998 and saving up all summer for his very first computer. He completed his very first short film, “Killer Kabbage” in 2011. In 2016, he completed another short titled “Ghost Detectives”, a comedy parody of ghost hunting reality shows. He released his first documentary in 2021 titled “A Haunting in Hinsdale” after documenting his paranormal investigation at the historic Hinsdale House in New York. Finally, Michael began production on his first feature-length film: a re-imaging of his first short film, “Killer Kabbage” in 2022.

From the Killer Kabbage camp, on the score: Voyag3r completed a badass score that helped drive this picture from the dreaded post-production phase right into completion. I’ve always told my peers, music can either make or break a movie. And it their excellent music that definitely helps make this movie.

Movie Theater Massacre selected for the African Smartphone International Film Festival – Dec 22nd-24th

Movie Theater Massacre will be making it’s first official international appearance at the African Smartphone International Film Festival Dec 22nd-24th. Voyag3r scored the finale scene in this Detroit made slasher film, directed by Ian Courtney.

The African smartphone International film festival is a 6 days event. A call for entries open for a period of time for filmmakers, photographers, animators to submit their original project via our partner’s website Filmfreeway, our venerable jury members review and select the best as our official selection for the year to be screen at the festival events to film enthusiast, critics, filmmakers and industry stakeholders.

Jake, Wily, Rachel, Val, & Dan are employees at a movie theater. They enjoy working at an establishment that provides them the opportunity to discuss their favorite subject: movies. But the building’s owner, Harold, plans to sell off the property since movie going doesn’t seem profitable anymore. Random people start disappearing; while simultaneously, strange, and unexplainable things begin happening. Will they live to see another movie?

New York Ninja Worldwide Premiere at Beyond Fest 2021

New York Ninja will get its world festival premiere at this years Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, CA. Playing at the Aero Theatre on Saturday, October 2, the film will be presented by Vinegar Syndrome‘s Kurtis Spieler, who spearheaded the project. There will also be a Q&A, after the film, from some of the voice actors and some members of Voyag3r. Beyond Fest is the highest attended genre film festival in the U.S. and exists to serve the genre community in Los Angeles. Screening and ticket information can be found here. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 17.

While NINJA was shot entirely on 35mm in 1984, the project was abandoned during production resulting in all original sound materials, scripts and treatments going missing. The rights and unedited original negative were subsequently acquired by Vinegar Syndrome, who have meticulously constructed and completed the film, enlisting the talents of genre film superstars Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Michael Berryman and Cynthia Rothrock to voice the leads as well as Voyag3r to compose an original score.
